I'm a 16 year old and I've had this question on my mind for quite a while. I really am a skinny ******. I'm about 5'10'' and 130 lbs. or so. Not exactly a body builder. I trained with a home gym for an entire year, to get a decent four pack and to find out that I really should have been using weights because the muscle mass you gain is so much more. I stopped working out and its been two months. I'm still around my same weight, but there's barely anymore four pack and my arms are still average (not bulk).

Without being cocky or conceded, I'm pretty funny and I have a good looking face. I had wicked cool long hair but I cut it and now its more of a medium-short length. It's still awesome but I refuse to gel it because that's just not my style. I guess I just need to get the confidence of knowing that muscles aren't needed and then I can get my game rolling. I live in a suburban NY town where tanning bed guidos are a dime a dozen so this probably has something to do with my question

Women love confidence, man. Trust me. If you can be confident about what you've got, you'll do fine. I'm 23, I'm 6'1" 175, and very slim. When my friends are moving out of their house and I offer to help, they say they can probly handle it on their own and call my friend who was an ex-football player, ha. But I get more *** than all of them because I know how to use my intelligence and my attitude. You seem like a bright kid, girls like attention being paid to THEM rather than to yourself. Trust me. You're gonna do fine kid.

abs pecs biceps triceps, all ugotta work, 100 situps with weights every otehr day, curls, n then tricep/chest dumbell excercies also,

Listen no matter what they say most r. Do ulike a girl with large watever, they do too

Workout 3 times a week for like an hr and ull se results. eat right too but if u wanna get seriosu look up workout program online, or look up some easy excercies

Its not all important but it helps, the good looking huge guy will get a number alot quick but itsnot impossible for not big guys to, u just gotta show ur otehr appealign qualties, intelligence humor etc

It doesnt hurt to get muscular n in better shape, as the saying goes "Curls for girls"

physically, you sound like a good friend of mine. he's tall, lanky, and has a bit of a 4-pack. i used to have a crush on him and he has practically no muscle. Lets be honest...most relationships start with physical attraction....but not all relationships last just because of it...after a while, you look for something else in a partner aside from his looks...what's important is that you are compatible, meaning you have common ground, like you like the same things....

I think you should get shorter layers; maybe started a cm above your ear and the underlayers of your hair should be thinned out so it can grow nice and long, and maybe blowdry your bangs into a side fringe?

It really all depends on your face shape, their are certain hair cuts for certain shapes of faces. Choosing the wrong hair cut for you, may not "suite" you. so here are a some few tips on choosing the right haircut for you...

OVAL - This is the most versatile face. You can pull off almost any look. Short, long, straight or wavy. You'll look best with layers near your cheekbones, lips or chin basically whatever feature you want to highlight.

Styles that are super hot now: Choppy bobs, long waves and shoulder-skimming shags.

Avoid: Short layers that add height on top of your head.

This will make your face appear long. If your hair is thick or curly, avoid a blunt cut. You'll look like a pyramid.

LONG or 'oblong' For straight hair, you can create more width with bangs. Long, side-swept bangs are very modern. Chin-length bobs and cuts are also ideal for you because they create the illusion of width. Curls and waves also add width, but avoid short layers that add volume on top. Hot new hair style - long layers.

Avoid: Stay away from extremely long or short cuts. These elongate your face. If you must have long hair past your shoulders, make sure to cut in a few long layers, especially around the face.

ROUND Your best bet are styles that fall right below your chin or add a little volume on top. So, I have medium length curly hair. My bangs go just down to the bottom of my lower lip. I'm thinking of cutting my hair shorter and i really want some bangs. But every time I get out of the shower now, my bangs get really curly and I'm scared that if I got them cut to regular bang size, just at the eyebrows, it would curl and look horrible. oh girl! i have the same thing.

i just clip mines just a couple mins after getting out of the shower. i leave the clip in my hair (or a couple bobby pins) and this keeps the hair from actually curling or puffing up.

then in the morning i straiten them. and theyre good as new :)

I have naturally curly hair and I used to be a hairstylist. I know for a fact that if you cut your bangs they WILL curl up on you unless you blow dry them straight and/or use a flat iron. Personally, I don't wear bangs. They look nice when they're straightened, but as soon as it got humid or I would start sweating, they would curl up and look awful. I suggest keeping them at least cheek length.

Straighten them. Simple as that. If you don't have a flat iron, try blow drying it straight. If that doesn't work try pinning them up until your hair dries. It'll "mold" to the shape of your head which pretty much makes it straight.

my hair is the exact same way and i juss got a hair appointment last tuesday. i would try getting layers it really helps it become less thick. also ask to get it thinned out i get it every time it works great. then for the color try getting two colors thats what i did it looks cool. like either two shades of brown or maybe a brown and a blonde. if its your first really major hair cut than as a stylest i would suggest some long to medium layers so you can either flip it out or in. i would also add that if your face is round than stay away from a face hugging cut so make them long layers in the front to make your face not so round and longer. but if your face is long than you can do a face hugging cut. p.s. just have fun with your haircut it's just hair and it will grow back.

I go to stores like WalMart or Walgreen's and see the hairstyle books there. There are clip and save styles in many of them. I feel having a picture is closest to getting the stylist to relate to what you want better. I look at the books at the magazine section in the store before getting it to see if there is a style I want to use. IF you don't get to the store before then try a google search and put in medium length, chunky layered hairstyles and click google search. I've found pics of hairstyles on this when I went there and entered what I was looking for. Good luck, remember hair grows fast in summer if the stylist cuts the length. The last part of what you put about thinning it out dramatically is layering. I had this done and it really thins / styles it more.

its almost impossible to say.. you should post a picture that is straight on so we can all see what shape face you have, which is really the deciding factor in a great haircut.. it almost seems as though you have an oval face and in which case you in luck because oval faces look good with any haircut because of there symmetry... theres also lots of websites you can look up that will give you hair ideas and haircuts that will look especially good with your face shape.

I just got myself a dark purple wig and a medium-dark shade of blue one yesterday at Wal-Mart. I'm thinking about picking up a red on there, too, if I can cut out the devil ears. I don't want to dye my hair. In the spring I had gotten hair pieces that came in multi colors, like orange, light green, light blue, yellow. I also got hairpieces (these are the kind that's to be held by your ponytail) that comes in one color: light green, dark purple, a different shade of dark blue than my wig, light green. I gotten green for my Irish heritage. I got fake hair colors for fun, I don't wear them all the time.Last night I went to make a second trip to Walmart for something, and wore my purple wig. And wore it to a bar. One lady I never met told me she likes it (was middle-aged) and it was gutsy of me. When I was wearing just hairpieces, I would get complimented on them, and some people actually missed me wearing them. I like the wigs because they are longer than my natural hair.

I think it is sooo cool! Especially if you work in a corporate environment and want to let loose on your down time. I wore a dark purple and black mixed weave to the Destiny Child's concert last year-got a lot of compliments! Seriously, though-as long as you have a healthy way of attaching the hairpieces(stay away from glue), it is soo much healthier and funner for your hair than actually dying it all the time-rock on!

Hi,

I am 20 years old , studying in IIT Roorkee. I have been suffering from hair loss (for more or less 2 years). The hair loss seems to be throughout the scalp , but a little more concentrated round th e left parting and the rest like the male pattern baldness of sehwag where only the side parts remain. The middle area throughout has very much reduced hair density now.

I have very curly and at the moment medium length hair and as a result the hair loss can be hidden with some hairstyles. However if i roll back my hair , or while its wet, the scalp is visible from the front.

I am using Clinic All Clear , Hairfall defense shampoo at the moment. Moreover I am originally situated in Delhi.

Please advise me on remedies that i should take and whether i should take steps such as getting hair cut short or shaving my head as well as increasing intake of juice or something.

I've been dyeing my hair black but I'm trying to grow it out only my roots look grey again

my hair is a sort of medium brown colour and i've been dyeing it black for about a year which has caused my hair to be dry and in pretty bad condition so i stopped dyeing my hair a few months ago. my roots are about 2 1/2 inches long now and look awful; they look grey, im only 13 so that's pretty bad for me as it is but im moving schools soon so i don't want to turn up with "grey" hair but i don't want to dye it again, what do i do?

don't ever us a perm color ever! you don't know what u are getting...try getting a color gloss from John Friedman for dark hair and use that until you notice somewhat of an even tone at ur roots and just stop dying ur hair altogether....the blackest part of ur hair will fade anyway and the roots won't be so noticeable..but the color gloss works great!

I would suggest asking a hair stylist for help with this. As far as I know there is not much you can do except cut it off.

use a demi permanent color on your roots. It will only last a month or so depending on your shampoo and how often you wash it that way your hair wont look so bad while your growing it out, and demi dye wont hurt your hair at all and will also make the rest of your hair feel good.

I think that you should straighten it. That's my opinion but if you wnat to curl it then you get the curlers and start at the bottom and work your way up when putting t hem in. Don't forget to do the back and don't put too many in because then it'll look like you got a perm. If you didn't understand a word that i just said then read the directions on the box that the curlers came in.

You have probably been trying to style it for too long if you have spent 2 hours in the bathroom. I would take a break, maybe look through some magazines or hairstyles online to see if you can get some ideas on how to style it. Also, I would call and ask the hair stylist for some ideas...she should have discussed that all with you before cutting it. And...from your question...I am not sure what style you are going for as you mention putting rollers in it at night, so it is sort of hard to give you suggestions as it really depends on the look and style you are going for.

That's definately a question for the stylist; as long as you know where to find them it's never too late to go back and ask!

One tip: with layers, you have to handle each layer seperately. For whatever you do, start by pulling everything but the bottom(longest) layer into a loose bun on top of your head. Curl/straighten that layer first, then let the bun loose, seperate out the next layer.... and so on. With rollers, you usually have to start with the shortest layer (on top) first and work your way down.

Rule of thumb: if you want your hair to flip up, then you roll the curlers (or curling iron, or hot rollers) up, and if you want your hair to go under you roll the curlers down and under. If you want your hair to have body (heighth) on top then use a large roller and roll the curler under and remember that the more on base it is (on the part) the higher the hair will be. I would use 2 medium size curlers going around the bottom part of your hair (one above the other). Since you don't want the curls to be tight and kinky, you want the curlers to hang down (remember curl up away from face for a flip, and down and under toward the face for curl to go under). I have this same cut and I like it flipped up lightly. I use sponge rollers at night, or I curl it with either hot rollers or a curling iron by day. You can also curl the hair under around the top part of your head to give the sides and top body. (crown, above ears, and back). Good luck!

my hair has split ends too but i spent so much time growing it out i refuse to cut it all off..try going through your hair, little by little, and cutting only the split ends. if you dont, they will just split more. if you do this your hair will improve (try twisting sections of hair and cutting the split ends when they pop out). to prevent split ends, stop using heat products. seriously, they destroy your hair. i have a 150 dollar straightener and no amount of heat protectant can keep my hair from getting damaged. at least cut back on heat. get a good shampoo and conditioner for dry/damaged hair, deep condition once a week, eat healthier, and take good care of your hair. all this should help. but nothing can repair split ends..except cutting them off. good luck :)

It sounds like you have very similar hair to me. Honestly, there is nothing you can do to fix split ends. To keep hair looking it's best, you need to get regular trims. If you want something just as a "quick fix" that will make it look a little better (I'm not promising miracles) then try a hot oil treatment. Alberto V05 hot oil treatment is a good one.

Firstly because you have an oval shaped face, you are very lucky because any hairstyle will suit you!!

If you want your hair to appear thicker ask a hairdresser to layer your hair,starting with the front part of your hair shorter and gradually getting longer.You could also ask for some sidebangs at the front coz these look really cute.

If you can, buy some straightners that get really hot, or you can blowdry your hair straight after washing it ,if you don't want it straight though, don't worry coz layered hair can still look great wavy.

Step 2: Towel blot strands bangs. Detangle bangs completely to remove knots. If your hair is prone to frizz, apply a defrisant product before you blow dry.

(Anti-Frizz Product to try: Rene Furterer - Control Emulsion Anti-Frizz)

Step 3: Blow bangs completely dry. If bangs are wavy or naturally curly, use a boar's head paddle or natural round brush to blow bangs completely straight.

Step 4: Optionally you can blow dry the rest of your hair at this point or leave the non-bang area wet. Either way, separate all the bang hair from the rest of your strands. Clip the non-bang hair up to keep it out of the way of the bangs.

Step 5: Locate a good mirror with a great light source for easy viewing of your trimming tasks.

Step 6: Separate bangs into three equal sized sections.

Step 7: Clip the two end sections away from the middle section. Firmly, without stretching hair, grab the middle section of bang hair hair between the index and middle finger of your dominant hand so that it forms a smooth even line.

Note: Do not stretch the bangs tightly or else you won't be able to accurately gauge the length as you trim.

Step 8: Hold your trimming scissors at a 45 degree angle to avoid crooked slicing when chopping straight across. Start very slowly and snip off tiny pieces of the bangs with the scissors moving from the right to the left. Finish clipping the middle section. Check the length. If you need more hair removed, repeat the same action cutting from left to right.

Continue moving back and forth, alternating directions, until the bangs are the perfect length that you desire. Avoid lifting your eyebrows or crossing your legs while trimming since this can also impact the ultimate length.

Note: Remember to take your time. It is better to snip too little hair than too much. While you can keep snipping you can't glue cut hair back on.

Step 9: Once you are happy with the length of the middle section, unclip the right side. Using the finished middle section as a point of reference for the length you desire, cut the side section. Remember to go slow and cut back and forth from right to left and then left to right.

Step 10: Once both sides have been trimmed, study the completely sweep of bangs from edge to edge. Make any adjustments to the middle or either side.

(make sure u dont cut when its actually on the side.) then brush it to the side n see how it looks. u dont have to the other side if u dont want to, it should look fine either way. if u want more of an angle then cut according to how u want it. hope it works!

i have naturally very thin curly medium length hair. the curls make my hair look reasonably thick as my hair looks thin when i straighten it.it used to be very ringlety but cos i have dyed my hair extreme colours over the past few years (plat blonde, blue, shocking red, pink etc) my hair has lost some of its springy curlyness at the top. however, i fancy a massive change. i fancy a very short hairstyle like the one the really thin blonde girl from americas next top model has. but, as my hair gets curlier when its shorter anyway, will it turn into an afro fly-away mess? what do you all think?

also, i have a fairly large forehead and so i would like some sort fringe, but will this go wrong cos if my curly fine hair? thankies people :)

Well, first, color. Hightlights and lowlights give dimension and will do so form your curls, making them more 3-dimensional.

For a short hairdo, perhaps you could look into relaxing your hair? Just a bit to loosen the springiness.

If you shorten your hair to a pixie cut, then the curl won't show up, but i wouldn't recommend going that short, because the growing out period will be a pain in the ****. Just look what happened to that chick from Felicity.

But my suggestion for your hair would be chin-length and layered, like this haircut Sarah Jessica Parker has which I liked so much, but can't get cos my hair is simply wavy.

long hair is always more convenient. It can always be put into a ponytail especially nice in humid areas. A cut is nice but must be maintained at least every 2-3 weeks and who has time like that. Anyways it's winter your head might get cold. I say leave it long and think again in the spring/summer.

dont do it honest! i had long hair, but i decided that i wanted a bob, so i have got it done and have regretted it (even thow i won't admitt it because everybody told me not 2 do it!) you cant do anything with short hair, and because you have wavy hair it would mean you have to make the effort to straighten it daily! also - wot i really h8 about my hair is that it always look the same. because i struggle to tie it up, i never looked dressed up when i go out because i wear my hair the same for college as i do when im going out. its your hair and i do know a couple of people who havent regretted having it done - but personally i wish i never did it! hope you make the right desicision hun! xxxxx

I think that you should go ahead and cut it. Not only will it get rid of any damaged hair, from all the colorings and styling, it will also give your hair a change to renew itself.

I don't think it will turn into a mess, and if it does, then you can always use a product to tame your curls, like John Frieda's Frizz Ease.

And I don't know how fringe will work with your hair. Maybe try longer ringlets over your forehead.

You may want to try a free on line makeover site to try on different hairstyles if you are unsure. They are a great way to see what you could look like with different styles with your own individual face shape.

For Christmas I received a giftcard to a hair salon that I'd like to use. I just got my hair cut like a week ago, to get the dead/split ends off, and about 3-4 weeks ago dyed my hair at home with Clairol Natural Medium Neutral Brown (118A). The roots have just barely grown out a little.

I'm mainly looking to put streaks/highlights into my hair, though I'm not sure what color, or if I should get them all the way through (I rarely wear my hair up unless at work.). I've had streaks/highlights before, and they've looked good, but now I have absolutely none and I'd like to add some.. I'm just not sure what would be best for my skin tone and hair color!

honestly the color thats on it right now looks like a medium brown with some hint of red. you sould go a dark brown like a level 3 your stylist will know when you say level 3. the reason for going with a few darker streaks is if you live where winter is actually winter and you lose your tan the darker will look better. lighter streaks will make you washed out. if you go in do a semi permanent color so that way come close to spring they will be washed out. thats just me and to be honest i've been every color you could imagine. hope that helps merry christmas.

My hair right now is (artificially) black. I've dyed it jet black with a demi-permanent dye twice over the last three and one half months.

Before this, I've dyed my hair about four different times over two years, three with a semi-permanent red/purple, and once with demi-permanent brown.

However, the hair that receieved the first two dyes is mostly cut off now.

I recently used L'Oreal's Color Zap! hair color stripper on my hair, but all it did was made my hair very dry, and only lightened my hair to a dark brown black.

I want to bleach my hair to a very light ash blonde/platinum, because I am so tired of having to draw my eye brows on (which doesn't look right with my face) or wearing bangs because, well, my eyebrows are medium-dark-ish blonde.

get the aussie 3 minute deep conditioner and use that for awhile..it will make your hair healthy again...just let your hair grow out some..

and going blonde is VERYYY expensive and time consuming.

be prepared. but youre eyes are pretty so go for it. just know that its hard to keep up with it.

These days there are sooo many hair dyes and hair products. With natural hair restoring shampoos and dyes, you should completely go for it!! They won't damage your hair as badly as they used to!
