every year it seems they are younger and younger. i always say once they get their "period" but i guess everyone keeps getting it earlier and earlier. i would say around 12, 13 would be an appropriate age though. just for something suttle.

I probably started dying my hair when I was around 12-13. Highlights are dying your hair a lighter color than your natural color while low-lights are going to put in a darker color than your natural hair.
Prices can vary I have medium length hair and for me to get a full set of highlights at a cheaper place such as Cost Cutters is about $60 and at a medium-priced salon $90. In between full highlights you can get a partial done which usually cost $20-30 less. Highlights are lower maitence usually and a good way to experiment with varying colors. I can go 3-4 months between colorings as compared to needing to dye my hair each month with a whole hair dye.
For you to get blonde in brown hair would be a highlight. Something subtle like that would probably be nice if you're looking to lighten up your hair a bit.

i think 12 is a good age, i got mine done when i was like 10 or 11..i got highlights though. the difference is that high light is lighter, and lowlight is darker...duh. i think golden brown hair with warm b londe sounds cute, i need to get mine done again. and i dont know about the thickness and things, you could consult a hairstylist before you got it done just to see what they thought about it. :)

It happens all the time. In my school, a lot of girls and even some guys are younger than me (about your age) do all kinds of things with theit hair. It wouldn't even be so bad after all, it's a natural color. It's also not so expensive if you buy the stuff and do it.
